Skinwise is an app that tracks the factors that affect people’s eczema. It keeps a log of the offending factors including; pollen, temperature, humidity, your mood, stress levels, your diet, how much water you drink and any products that can cause irritation. It also tracks your symptoms and gives you a weekly report that shows the condition of your skin in comparison to the factors. This way people with eczema can have a better understanding of how their skin behaves as they can see what it reacts to and therefore manage it better. There is also a function that allows people to post questions they have for other app users who can respond to them or save the questions so they can look back at the answers/advice given.

I had to design a project in relation to the statement ‘Worst Kept Secret’. My design revolves around the idea that something is a worst kept secret because people are bad liars. I came up with a board game that challenges people to lie and figure out other liars. Board games are a big thing in my household so it was fun to create something that I would personally use.
To play the game a player has to pick up a card and then describe the illustration on it, however they can choose to lie. The other players have to vote whether or not they are lying, they are allowed to ask the first player questions about the illustration after being given the description. If the players are wrong, the player roles the die to determine how many places they move, if they guess correctly then the player doesn’t move and it’s the next player’s turn.
I leaned into the idea of lying and deception by making the board a maze, something that is supposed to deceive and confuse people. I designed four boards, front and back, that you can piece together in any order so the maze is different each time allowing the users to have a different game experience each time.

I designed a record sleeve that didn’t show the song title, artist name or my name. The song I chose was Devotion by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. I focused on the lyrics “When I’m with you the garden’s lush. Rising with new flowers, in a rush”. I created origami flowers using flowers and colours that symbolised love, devotion and adoration and then photographed them with a model in a studio. The disco lighting effect over the photos relates to fun, dance vibe the song creates.
