A personal project. Pixel Pals are a range of Tamagotchi-inspired virtual ‘friend’ toys designed to help young people, especially girls aged 8-12, become more confident in friendships. The aim of the toy and its gameplay is not to act as a stand-in for real life friendships, but instead act as a temporary comfort and allow for children to learn about boundaries and healthy inter-personal relationships.
