Sentinel Pro is a multi-layered marine security system designed to prevent outboard engine theft. It uses smart sensors, physical, visual, and audio deterrents alongside real-time notification alerts to protect vessels in storage and transit.

Physical Bolt Lock
The device features visual, audio, and physical deterrents. Theft attempts trigger a loud alarm via vibration sensors or tamper switches, send a live notification to the user, and leave a robust physical lock in place. The central hub includes a backup battery to ensure alerts are still sent if the main power is removed or damaged during an active system state.

Insights from a marine engine engineer and a boat builder/after sales expert guided critical decisions regarding:
This process ensured that the device:

The Sentinel Pro companion app was prototyped to offer users a simple, intuitive way to interact with their marine security system. Initial wireframes were developed based on user feedback and refined through iterative testing. The interface focuses on quick access to system status, live alerts, battery levels, and connectivity. Emphasis was placed on minimal navigation layers and high-contrast design for visibility in outdoor marine environments.

With support from the Loughborough University Startup Incubator, this project is being developed for commercial launch. Designed to meet a clear gap in marine security, it is now preparing to apply for grants and funding and is actively seeking investment.
This project is now patent pending, providing crucial protection for its unique security features and strengthening its commercial potential. Securing IP rights not only safeguards the innovation but also increases investor confidence and creates a strong foundation for future growth and market exclusivity.

During my placement year at Ribeye Boats, I gained hands-on experience across multiple areas of the business, including design, aftersales, operations, boat testing, and client relations. My primary responsibility was 3D visualisation, working closely with the sales team to produce high-end renders and design proposals for superyacht tenders and leisure RIBs, directly supporting client engagement and customisation.
Whether you’re an investor, marine industry expert, or just excited by what SentinelPro has to offer, I’d love to connect. The project is preparing for its first round of real-world testing — get in touch to be involved, collaborate, or learn more.
