Fashion Upcycling Kit
Yunique is an at-home upcycling kit and digital platform designed to empower young adults to creatively transform their old clothes into new, meaningful pieces—reducing fashion waste at its source.
The kit includes curated tools, materials, and a QR-guided onboarding journey. Users access tutorials, challenges, and community support tailored to their sewing skill level. Yunique bridges the gap between intention and action, turning unused garments into wearable stories and promoting a more circular, expressive approach to fashion.
Understanding user behaviour was central to Yunique’s development. From initial interviews, it became clear that many young adults wanted to upcycle their clothing but felt overwhelmed by where to start. This insight shaped a service flow that demystifies the process.
Beginning with a welcoming onboarding experience and tailored learning journey. The physical kit acts as a tangible prompt, while the digital platform adapts to the user’s skill level, providing step-by-step tutorials, and inspiration. By integrating a simple QR scan for access and weekly creative challenges, Yunique keeps the experience intuitive, rewarding, and accessible, encouraging sustained user engagement and community sharing.
