ForgeFit

ForgeFit – a compact, wireless smart gym movement tracking device designed for new lifters all the way to intermediates or re-joiners. Built to attach universally and seamlessly to resistance machines in, it brings real-time performance feedback directly to your workout.

Using a two-part system – a movement sensor and a display unit – Forge Fit provides users with custom workouts while capturing live data such as range of motion, time under tension, rest times and automatically counts reps and sets to help challenge and motivate users through their workouts.

The sensor attaches to gym equipment by an adjustable toggle, tracking movement patterns through a lightweight onboard PCB with accelerometer. This live data is transmitted via bluetooth to the screen module, which provides immediate, intuitive feedback and guidance navigated by a simple button-controlled interface. Users can review real time progress and movements rep-by-rep and see how to improve.

Forge Fit is rechargeable, rugged, and designed to handle sweat, friction, and frequent use – all in a form factor that fits in the palm of your hand. Its easy to wipe down, clean and uses antimicrobial materials to reduce bacteria presence.

Magnetic Attachment to Equipment

Designed to be Universal

Designed to be universally compatible across a wide range of gym equipment, from selectorised weight machines to cable stacks and plate-loaded systems. Its compact sensor module uses powerful N48 grade neodymium magnets to securely attach to any machine frame or handle, while its flexible form and lightweight design ensure it doesn’t interfere with machine movement or user flow. Whether it’s chest press, lat pulldown, or leg extension, the device adapts to the equipment making it simple to move between stations while maintaining consistent tracking and feedback across your workout.

User Interaction

The screen interface on ForgeFit is purposefully simple, designed for quick navigation during workouts. Using five tactile, sweat-resistant buttons, users can scroll through

core modes such as live tracking, movement summary, rep range, and progress comparison. The display presents data in a bold, high-contrast format – easily readable mid-set without needing an app or phone. Options include starting a new session, viewing last performance, and toggling between machines or exercises. Each screen is optimised to give just the right amount of feedback – clear, motivating, and distraction-free so users stay focused on form, not fiddling with tech.

Other Project

Here is a collection of some other projects I’ve completed over my time at Loughborough University

Quick Setup and Reliable Power

Polar Glow

Polar glow is a portable, self-sustaining personal hybrid wind and battery powered lighting solution system designed for Arctic environments. It features a multi-mode LED light for general lighting, navigation, marking, wildlife safe illumination and deterrents all powered by a VAWT and battery.

For Dove Products

Sustainable Shampoo

This project solution features a refillable aluminum bottle paired with shampoo concentrated powder refills, designed to reduce plastic waste and lower emissions. Users mix the powder with water at home, cutting down on transport weight and eliminating the need for single-use plastic packaging. The durable bottle includes measurement markers and a thermo reactive timer for in shower use to promote conscious water and product use. This system offers a low-impact, user-friendly alternative to traditional shampoo, aligning performance with sustainability.
