I am a mixed media artist specialising in sculpture. I explore creating detailed sculptures of monsters through material experimentation.

My Practice

Note that this work contains images that some may find distressing

My practice revolves around bringing the absurd creatures and monsters from my subconscious to life though sculpture. I am a mixed media artist, I mostly use polymer clay, chicken wire, modroc and latex. Material experimentation is a key concept when producing my work, by combining small amounts of various materials together, I sculpt unique and fantastical pieces. I allow experimentation to lead the development of each art outcome, thus creating highly detailed sculptures with a variety of textures.

Degree Show – The Trophy Room

For the degree show I will be presenting multiple creatures heads, each sculpture will be mounted upon a wooden shield. My sculptures are an imitation of taxidermy, but unlike the traditional style, I choose to incorporate “kill wounds” into each creature, such as gunshot wounds, slit throats and poisoned darts.
