Final Year Design Project

A solution to a lack of clean water during outdoor activities in the wild.

Whether it be hiking, cycling or running, when it comes to outdoor activities, proper hydration is pivotal to performance, alleviating the risk of fatigue, nausea, headaches, and even fainting. To aid in this, I developed an all in one storage and hydration system which uses a series of filters along with UV light to clean and sterilise otherwise unpotable water.

On Cloudcover: Smart running glasses

Developed over 10 days as an answer to the brief “Design for an existing brand, a physical product that leverages the power and opportunities of AI, Machine Learning and Monitoring in a way that is relevant to the brand and their customers.” The brand I picked was On, a company known for their running shoes and accessories, picking an avenue they were surprisingly yet to go down – sunglasses.

The problem: The sun emits ultraviolet light, enabling our skin to produce essential vitamin D, but in unchecked measures, it can also be detrimental to skin and eye health.

The solution? A pair of AI sunglasses that can monitor the sun and your reactions to it, keeping you safe and comfortable on your runs.
