A Sensory Garden that engages all five senses, fostering a deeper connection to nature.
Tranquil Lodges, complemented by a community vegetable garden, provide sanctuaries for mindfulness guided by nearby signage, with frequent gardening workshops that bring people together and nurture community bonds.
Visitors can choose how they explore the space via two routes: one is a secluded, peaceful shortcut, and the other a scenic path that follows the river.
An onsite café, run by a local coffee shop company offers a welcoming spot for socialising and relaxation. The space also features ample outdoor seating and street lights to create a safe, accessible environment for all visitors.
The Social Bubble includes four meeting rooms that host sessions for visitors referred by healthcare services or who come independently. These sessions can be pre-booked or on a drop-in basis and are supported by the Social Bubble Friends, volunteers from the community. Additionally, a large open seating area features a modular sofa that can be stored away to create flexible space for group activities.
During my placement year at a secondary school based in London I worked as an Art and Design & Technology Technician and Classroom Assistant. This hands-on experience allowed me to develop a wide range of skills, from gaining certifications for operating workshop machines to completing health and safety training. I was also given the opportunity to step in as a temporary D&T teacher, where I taught students from Year 7 to Year 11 and supported GCSE students with their projects. Additionally, I gained experience teaching art, food technology and textiles, which expanded my knowledge of the creative arts. This placement has been a key stepping stone in my career, equipping me with the skills needed to secure a D&T teacher training role after graduation.
