Sensory Playground is a multi-sensory textile project designed for neurodivergent children, particularly those with autism. It responds to their varied sensory experiences—such as under-responsiveness, sensory overload, and sensory seeking to creating a sensory-friendly textile interior space.
Through the combination of colour, texture, structure, and materials, the project uses a range of textile techniques to build a soothing, playful, and layered sensory space that encourages touch and curiosity.
The interior is divided into multiple sensory zones-from calm to active it allowing children to explore at their own pace.
The design focuses on supporting sensory regulation primarily through visual and tactile engagement.
