Designed for Boccia, Built for Comfort
RampMate is an ergonomically designed stool tailored for Boccia ramp operators, enhancing comfort and performance during game play. It has a height and angle adjustable seat allowing users to find an optimal posture, ensuring reduced strain during extended use. The removable backrest offers flexibility, accommodating different preferences and usage scenarios. Designed with modularity in mind, RampMate can be easily disassembled for convenient transport and storage, making it highly practical for competitions and travel.
A Paralympic sport requiring precision, skill, and strategy. Athletes with severe physical disabilities propel leather balls, aiming to place them closest to the target ball, known as the Jack.
There are four classifications. BC3 athletes use ramps to propel the balls, they are unable to throw or kick them independently. Each BC3 athlete is assisted by a Ramp Operator (RO), who trains and competes with them. The RO positions the ramp as instructed.

Ramp Operators have long endured seating that fails to support their unique movements, negatively affecting their posture, causing them to bend, lean and twist. This can affect the ramp operators’ performance and, in turn, the overall performance of the team.

A modular design for effortless transport, with ergonomic height and angle adjustments. The swivel seat enables smooth body rotation, while precise adjustments provide optimal support for game play.

The backrest and ball holders utilise one-touch quick-release mechanisms for easy adjustments. To remove the seat, simply squeeze the handle up to unlock and slide it off. For compact storage and portability, the base folds down smoothly by unscrewing the transverse folding mechanism.

DEMAND September 2023 – July 2024
I completed my placement year as a Junior Designer at DEMAND: Design & Manufacture for Disability, a charity dedicated to breaking down barriers to inclusion with design. During my time there, I worked on several impactful projects (see below), which helped me refine my practical skills in the workshop and enhance my CAD expertise. Additionally, working closely with users deepened my passion for inclusive design.
