68% of those affected by dementia report a lack of carer support (Alzheimer’s Society, 2022) with many feeling overwhelmed, alone, and distant from their loved one.
Mindful Care is an initiative, partnered with the NHS, providing support and guidance to unpaid carers (family and friends of people with dementia), achieved through an in-person experience and accompanying app.
It helps by instilling confidence in their ability to care, offering support and knowledge needed to provide the best care possible, promoting socialisation with others in similar situations, and bringing them closer to their loved ones by helping them see things from their perspective.

19.4% of students ages 6-16 are being recorded as persistently absent from school (Gov.uk, 2024). 9 in 10 have said this is due to poor mental health (The Guardian, 2024). The system put in place by the government to help these children isn’t working. Parents/carers need a new tool to support them on how to navigate this.
Good Parent is an app providing information and help to parents/carers who have a child struggling with mental health, all in one place.
Users can research more into their child’s specific issue, find out what steps to take, speak to others in similar situations and record their child’s behaviours.

6.4 million people in the UK are living with a heart or circulatory disease, many of which are parents of young children (British Heart Foundation, 2024, pp.3). These parents need a calming way to tell their young children that they are having heart surgery, because many fear that it will worry and confuse the children, and affect their normal routine.
“If children don’t know what’s happening, they will fill in the gaps and they might think things are worse than they really are”
‘Mummy’s Poorly Heart’ is a picture book for young children ages 5-6 whose parent is having heart surgery. It introduces the topic to the child in a calming and engaging way, and allows them to feel comfortable asking questions, therefore easing the parent’s worries.
