My practice is a personal account of the past, creating narratives depicted in a visual style that experiments with different perspectives. It is an amalgamation of ‘low’ and ‘high’ pop culture aesthetics, influenced by my interests in graphic novels and the fine art world.

I draw cartoon-like subjects in bold colours with irregular brush work, with a strong focus on the aesthetics. I specifically use monochrome colour schemes to embody the feeling of nostalgia, mimicking old sepia-toned imagery associated with memory – though replacing them with bolder hues.

My art is a means of depicting memory and creating narratives. Although the works are inspired by personal experiences, they are universal through the simplicity of the settings to provoke familiarity and nostalgia for the audience.
