I am an artist who uses horror as a tool to look at feminist issues through the utilisation of a series of charcoal drawings that highlight fears and experiences that women face in a patriarchal society.

“You made her” Three piece series

About my work

My work is inspired by the way that horror movies use the genre as an allegory for the fears and experiences that women go through in a patriarchal society. I use charcoal on paper to create scenes that represent different issues that women face and use different genres of horror to achieve this. I created three pieces all inspired by seperate sub-genres, being gothic horror, body horror, and psycological horror. Each piece represents a different experience that women may go through such as how they are viewed in a patriarcal society, the fears that come from living in one and how hard that experience may be.
