Hi I’m Julia. My passion is illustration, but more importantly, designing characters in an adventure and fantasy setting.
Blush & Bloom Bouquet
This project is a collaboration between Women for Refugee Women and Ben & Jerry’s, one of their main sponsors, in the form of a limited edition ice-cream flavour, as a way to celebrate International Women’s Day and promote the organisation.
The idea of blooming is used as a way to represent a fresh start, a second chance, a new life.
Alongside the organisation’s volunteers creating their own charity events, their website advertises for the Women’s Day marathon held on the 8th of March. This event is a perfect place to further promote the limited edition flavour through some themed merchandise.
Veiled
This project is a book about the crisis of education young girls are facing in Afghanistan.
Having my dad’s side of the family from Afghanistan, and briefly visiting to meet them, this topic was frankly emotional for me yet incredibly informative.
The organisation chosen to collaborate with for this project was UN Women as they are actively supporting the Afghan women in-country, sending resources and voicing their struggles.
Veiled is a book showing the timeline of two girls of the same age, but in different countries, showing the vast difference in freedom and opportunities the women have the ability to choose from for their future.
One main difference for the lives of Afghan women is that their right to an education ends at the young age of 12, and are often only taught housework, which is valuable in itself, but at the cost of their ability to read and write.
Let’s Rewind
Taking families “back in time” to simpler toys with endless possibilities. Taking children away from their screens and rewinding guardians’ memory back to their own youth.
Photos are well-beloved, glancing at a moment you wish to freeze in time forever. Being able to share children’s achievements and maybe even show off a little to other guardians. This album is for just that, after completing a test set by our Time Rewinders, guardian’s should show evidence for a chance to win some awesome prizes.
Whilst not being an activity prize, everyone loves a big shiny trophy to put on their bedside. Join in with the season’s communal events and follow our Rewinder’s steps to take one of these home.
A Good Job sticker set to track your progress with the Time Rewinders’ Goal Charts, complete 7 challenged to finish the map.
