This collection depicts a hypothetical future of fashion in the year 2040. A new culture of fashion consumption takes inspiration from the World War Two campaign of Make Do and Mend. Garments are mended and extended to encourage longevity and prevent a throwaway culture from becoming the norm once again.
In my work, I prioritise slow methods, this reflects on the intimacy of mending your own or loved ones garments. A needle threading through worn fabric becomes an act of care, a gesture of resistance to disposability and a promise of a future.
