Knights of the Status Quo

Concept and Media

My Final Major Project unpicks the role that the Knight plays historically as a symbol for societal change. My concept narrative identifies the areas for change in our current western society and considers a modern knight who would adapt ideals of the past to be a champion of future change.

My outcome used photography, knit and shadows to place traditionally stiff and weighty medieval imagery into a gentler and more comforting context. I also incorporated elements of performance by combining Middle English speech with modern societal ideas.
