Creative Control offers a modular, repairable, and customisable creative workstation— engineered specifically for artists and designers. It empowers users to tailor their tools to their craft, seamlessly upgrade components, and extend the life of their device, all without technical expertise. Whether you’re sketching, animating, colour grading, or designing. Creative Control adapts to your workflow—not the other way around.

Creative Control seamlessly transitions between drawing mode, where users interact directly on the touchscreen with stylus support, and tablet mode, offering a traditional desktop-like workflow—empowering creatives with flexibility and efficiency across different working styles.

Combining modular hardware and intelligent design features tailored to the needs of creative professionals. Key features include a customisable Creative Dial Module for intuitive control, a high-resolution touchscreen with stylus support, and these features work together to streamline creative workflows, reduce reliance on non-repairable hardware, and give users greater control over how they create.

The back panel of the device opens effortlessly using a built-in latch, giving users direct access to the internal components. Key modules like the battery, graphics card (GPU), and I/O ports are all individually removable and replaceable — no special tools or technical experience required.
Components slide or click into place using standardised connections, and internal instructions and labels (including a QR code) guide users through the process.

Creative Control offers several adaptable layout modes: a left-side dial setup for right-handed users, a mirrored right-side layout for left-handed comfort, and a minimalist mode with just the keyboard and trackpad for general use. These configurations showcase the modular system’s flexibility, allowing users to tailor the device to their workflow and ergonomic preferences.

Focusing on empowering individuality, adaptability, and precision for creative professionals. It combines a clean, modern visual identity with the friendly, functional tone of a tool designed by and for creators. Through minimalist typography, modular iconography, and a monochrome palette with customisable accents, the branding reinforces the product’s core values: flexibility, professional-grade performance, and user ownership.

The development process involved user interviews, extensive sketching, and rapid prototyping using various methods, including cardboard models and 3D printing. Bodystorming exercises and advanced CAD modelling also played a key role in refining the design.

A contemporary take on the traditional gramophone, featuring cranking mechanisms to turn the turntable. This design encourages a slower and more intentional listening experience, which has often been overlooked in recent years. It serves as a break from digital devices, providing a truly analogue experience. Additionally, since it requires no power, Resonat reduces energy consumption and is overall more environmentally friendly.
Resonat was a live project 10 day design sprint set by FSW Design.
Resonat went on to win the 1st place prize
