Many children who migrate to the UK experience migratory grief as a result of the cultural distance and the struggle to fit into a new home. It can be worsened if, in their new home, they do not see aspects of their old home represented. For example, in the UK, Chilean culture is not very well known and hence for a Chilean migrant child they would find it hard to manage their migratory grief and nostalgia. It is especially seen in books, as local libraries and bookstores do not have many children’s books about Chile.
This book is made to allow a migrant child to manage these heavy emotions healthily and feel seen. So, when they are feeling homesick they can turn to this book to bring about a safe environment for them to feel those emotions. Consequently, through visual communication a lot of emotions are felt, and what better way to communicate these things to a child if not with a picture book? In addition, for a British audience, the aim is to allow them to learn new aspects of Chile, from some mythological creatures to other significant cultural elements.

I submitted a vinyl cover for the song ‘Merchants of Paradise’ by Gregory Porter via a D&AD brief, and on the 10th of April 2025 I was invited to attend the private opening exhibition at NOW Gallery in London. From then till June the auction was live and people could bid on the vinyl sleeve covers, raising a lot of money for WarchildUK. This charity aids in helping children all over the World who are affected by conflicts and wars, so it was truly amazing to be part of the team raising money for them. This submission also won a D&AD Pencil!

More and more elderly people in the UK are vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation, which causes serious effects on their physical and mental health (NHS,2025). As of 2025, more than 2 million people over the age of 75 in England live alone and go more than a month without speaking to someone (NHS,2025). Due to their isolation, many have a lot of muscle strength loss and reduced circulation, which causes more physical problems (Arora,2023).
It is important to reinstate the elderly as the core of the community and make them feel valuable and appreciated again (NHS,2025). Reengage is a charity that helps battle loneliness in the UK for those aged 75 and over. They organise events with volunteers, accompany them on their daily walks, and do regular phone calls (Reengage,2025). There is very little visual communication relating to this problem, and the ones that already exist are infographic-based and product-based. Whereas a beautiful and emotional story can encourage people to help.
A short animated film will be created so that people feel motivated and encouraged to volunteer for charities like Reengage and help lonely elders not be alone. The animation will be shared by Reengage charity as a form of promotion for the work they do, and to bring more awareness about this issue. The emotional animation will remind us of the sense of community we need to implement with each other.

I like to collect broken pieces of jewellery and reconstruct them to make new pieces. In the past I have made necklaces, earrings, bracelets, waist beads and anklets. These small projects show my constant crave for craft and creativeness, and in the future I plan to add to this collection with ceramics, crochet and sewing.
I like to take a lot of photographs. These vary as I like to experiment with different layouts, colours and textures. Within my best photographs I have used a range of cameras, from polaroid to digital camera and phone camera. In addition, I always like to experiment with the angles and editing styles, producing unique snapshots of time and space.
