REDI is a portable device that delivers Red Light Therapy to immediately treat an injury, in a sporting environment. Red Light Therapy utilises both red and near infrared wavelengths to reduce pain and inflammation, whilst improving circulation and recovery. Through my personal experiences and thorough research, I concluded that the current treatment to sports injuries is often difficult to access, frequently resulting in delayed treatment. Ice is also commonly used but it is not an optimal treatment and may delay the sports injury from healing. Exploration into the Red Light Therapy treatment identified the need for a device and experience that is appropriate for a sporting context, rather than a medical and clinical context that existing Red Light Therapy devices are more suited to.

The REDI device utilises laser pointers, that converge at six inches, to indicate where the device is being aimed and to communicate if it is being held at the ideal treatment distance. A progress bar on each side of the device, allows the user to visualise the ten minute duration of the treatment, with each light sequentially turning off after two minutes. Users of REDI can be confident that they have experienced the full treatment as the device automatically turns off after the treatment is complete. With accessibility and portability being key factors, a battery charger within the case and a light that conveys a low device battery, ensures the device is always charged and ready to be used.



The rugged, reliable, and robust appearance not only creates an aesthetic that is appropriate for the sporting environment and context but also contributes to a durable and resilient product. The silicone casing provides protection if the device is knocked or dropped during use or transportation. An aluminium front plate lends itself to the sturdy appearance and provides another layer of protection to the internal components. Designed to be easily assembled and disassembled, both external and internal parts can be replaced, extending the lifespan of the product.

Throughout the design process, I was keen to create a functional prototype to test various interaction points and explore an injured athlete’s experience with the REDI device. Testing the feasibility of the converging laser pointers and experimenting with physical prototypes enabled me to visualise REDI in an injury scenario.







During a week-long design sprint I took on the brief, ‘design for an existing brand, a physical product that leverages the power and opportunities of AI, Machine Learning and Monitoring in a way that is relevant to the brand and their customers’, set by DCA.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the amount of people that go to the gym. It is common that new gym-goers experience ‘gym-anxiety’ and may lack knowledge about how to use the gym equipment to exercise and lift correctly.
I decided to focus on BLK BOX Fitness, an innovative gym equipment manufacturer. Their aims to provide meaningful solutions and enhance how gym-goers train, aligned with my desire to design a product that utilises AI to monitor the form of gym-goers when exercising with a barbell and to educate the user on how to improve their form.






Designer in Residence at Hurstpierpoint College – Diploma in Professional Studies. In 2023, I joined Hurstpierpoint College as the first ‘Designer in Residence’. In this role, I took on various responsibilities within the Design and Technology Department and wider school community, including one of the on-site boarding houses. Working within a growing department and with a range of students, from Year 7 to GCSE and A-Levels years, allowed me to exercise my workshop, design thinking and communication skills.
Student Athlete at Loughborough University – Loughborough Students Lacrosse Club, Men’s 1st Team. In my first year at university, I joined the lacrosse club with no experience of playing the sport. Commitment to training and the club led to my debut in the Men’s 1st team within my first year. I continued my involvement with the team alongside my studies, placing second in the BUCS Lacrosse 21-22 Men’s Midland Conference Cup in my second year and a Top 4, semi-final place in both the SEMLA 24-25 Midlands League and the BUCS Lacrosse 24-25 Men’s National Championship in my final year.
