'The Death of the Flowers' is a poem from the 1820s that inspired this project, with themes of mortality, femininity and florals. I have developed this project into a children's book, based on the bluebell, flower myth.
Page 1, depicting a girl walking from a large house (inspired by Chatsworth House) and heading into the woodland.
Final page, depicting how the story ends, with the girl being cursed to be a bluebell.
During this project I really aimed to use textured prints in my work, and pair them with my drawings. As seen in the photos the digitally modified prints make up the woodland scenes in each illustration, and work well with my drawings.
