I'm an oil paint artist exploring the fragility of the human body through the use of smudging to blur and distort clear forms. These marks suggest vulnerability, capturing the fleeting nature of physical existence.

My artwork explores the fragility of the body through the deliberate use of smudging, blurring the boundaries between form and formlessness. The soft, blurred marks suggest vulnerability and impermanence, as if the figure is dissolving or slipping away. By distorting detailed areas, the smudges evoke a sense of physical and emotional erosion, highlighting how delicate and fleeting our physical presence can be.

About

My artwork is subtly inspired by Renaissance styles, particularly in the attention to anatomical accuracy and balanced composition. While I draw from the era’s focus on structure and form, I blend it with a more experimental approach, using large smudges to introduce texture and emotion that contrasts with the detailed areas. This curation of work plays with negative space to create a sense of openness and focus, guiding the viewer’s eye and allowing the detailed parts to stand out. This mix of classical influence and modern looseness gives the work a layered, contemplative feel.
