Technical Anomaly Report explores the evolving relationship between the human body and technology, imagining new forms of life that emerge through this entanglement. Using videography, projection and illusion, I create speculative encounters with ‘technical others’– entities that dissolve boundaries between human and machine. Influenced by the peculiar glitches and anomalies captured by everyday technologies, my practice examines how digital advancements reshape human experience and hint at a cyborg-like future. Technology, in my work, acts as a portal to reach these ‘technical others’.

This piece reflects the distinction and interconnection between the ‘technical other’ and the human body through choreography. By utilising unconventional movement, a unique physical vocabulary is developed, suggesting the emergence of a new form of being.
Through developing this piece, I honed my skills in videography and editing in Adobe.

Through building a Pepper’s Ghost hologram, the ‘technical other’ can be seen on display. In the illusion, a figure seems to be floating in a continuous loop of movement and glitching. The spectators are prohibited from entering the area, enabling the illusion to remain a mystery, as the television is not in sight. Ultimately, a torso and head levitate, forming a hologram of the digital creature.

This piece incorporates the use of projection mapping onto a domestic fridge, revealing an image and video of trapped bodies. the projection lights up the fridge, seemingly turning the fridge on, to watch these ‘technical others’ struggling to exit.

The laboratory atmosphere is heightened, as the bodies are placed into the fridge for preservation.
